Boyanup Primary School
45 Thomas Street, BOYANUP WA 6237
Nestled along the banks of the Preston River, the school’s grounds have been beautifully sculptured to provide an environment that is calm, relaxing and stimulating for our students.
The original school was established in 1901, later being relocated to it’s current site in 1971. The school caters for students from Kindergarten to Year Six.
Our school has a welcoming and cheerful atmosphere which immediately creates a sense of belonging.
The school is based on valuing diversity and inclusivity. Boyanup Primary School provides a balanced education in a caring, supportive environment.
The school curriculum and programs offered support the development of the academic, social, emotional and physical aspects of the whole child, working collaboratively with our families, the community and local services to help our children reach their full potential.
Learning is developmental. The children are encouraged to be independent learners, with clear expectations and boundaries and are encouraged to be critical and reflective learners.
The school works as a whole team with an expectation of commitment to improving outcomes for children and working within the school ethos. Children are encouraged and guided to make decisions and be accountable for their choices.
We offer a broad curriculum, including Auslan, Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Instrumental Music, Physical Education, STEM, Science, Sustainability and Waste Wise specialist programs.
Boyanup Primary School has well maintained modern facilities including a purpose built early childhood facility, primary block consisting of four newly refurbished classrooms that surround a large multi purpose central area, administration block, well resourced library, dedicated specialist Art Studio/Science Lab, Music/Drama Room and Multimedia Studio.
The school is equipped with specially appointed playgrounds, multi purpose hard court, oval, large grassed playing areas, all weather under-covered area including an adjacent P&C operated canteen. The school curriculum is also complemented with an aquaponics system and a generously sized fruit and vegetable garden - community garden.
Connecting our families with the school community, promoting a sense of shared responsibility and building everyone's capacity to work together is vital to ensure that our students have the best chance of realising their social and academic potential.
The school employs an integrated approach to bring together community services and agencies to support our families and to achieve our school goals. Our aim is to address significant gaps in the students' health, social & academic skills and through early intervention to support child readiness prior to commencing formal schooling.
Our focus is to affect a cultural shift within our school community through the provision of positive high-quality early childhood experiences, consistent, explicit instruction using evidence-based programs and wrap-around support to families.
The School is fortunate to have an active School Board and P&C Association. The Board’s fundamental purpose is to enable parents and members of the community to engage in activities that are in the best interests of students and will enhance the education provided by the school. Our School P&C Association promotes the interests of the School, assists in the provision of resources, facilities and amenities through fundraising ventures and fosters community interest in educational matters.
School Bus Services provide a bus service to transport the students to and from school from outer areas from the Boyanup town site including; Elgin, Argyle and West Boyanup.
All primary aged children within the Boyanup area can enrol at Boyanup Primary School. The school values diversity and inclusivity. Children with special needs are accommodated within the normal classroom setting.
